What is Cockpit Analytics

Cockpit Analytics provides comprehensive insights into your engineering team’s performance through key metrics that measure productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency. These metrics help you identify areas for improvement and track progress over time.
Cockpit requires a paid tier: Teams or Enterprise on cloud (trials included), or licensed self-hosted Enterprise. Unlicensed self-hosted (Community) and free BYOK plans don’t include it: the Cockpit item stays in the sidebar with a padlock and opens a blurred Unlock the Cockpit preview with a See plans button (Activate a license on self-hosted). Self-hosted Enterprise also needs the Analytics Worker running.

Monitor your team's performance with real-time analytics.

Key Features

  • Data refreshes every 30 minutes by default (ANALYTICS_INGESTION_CRON)
  • Teams/Enterprise on cloud (including trials), or licensed self-hosted Enterprise
  • AI-powered metric calculation
  • 8+ DORA and custom metrics

The tabs

The cockpit is split into two metric tabs, followed by an Issues tab:
  • Kodus Review (opens by default) — how effective Kodus’s reviews are: implementation rate, severity calibration, negative feedback, and the health of your Kody Rules. This is about Kodus itself, and it’s where you take action. See Kodus Review.
  • Productivity — general delivery metrics: deploy frequency, lead time, PR cycle time, PR size, and developer activity.
  • Issues — opens the Issues list, with the open-issue count next to the tab name.
At the top of the page you pick a repository (All repositories by default) and a date range (Last 15 days by default; presets Last week, Last 15 days, Last month, Last 3 months, or custom dates). There is no per-developer filter. The link button (Copy link to this view) copies a URL that reopens the same tab, repository, and range.
Owners can hide whole tabs or individual metrics for the entire organization from Organization → Cockpit visibility — see Cockpit Configuration.

Key Metrics Categories

Available Metrics:
  • Kodus Review: Implementation rate (overall, by severity, by category), negative feedback, repository and Kody Rule health
  • Productivity: Deployment frequency, lead time, PR cycle times
  • Quality: PR size, code review effectiveness
  • Team Performance: Collaboration patterns, bottleneck identification

How Developer Matching Works

Cockpit’s per-developer charts (PRs Merged By Developer, Team Activity) attribute each pull request to its author’s username on your Git provider. This may differ from:
  • GitHub/GitLab display name
  • Email address
  • Kodus workspace account
If you see discrepancies in developer metrics, check whether the same person opens pull requests from more than one Git provider account.
