Kodus integrates with Azure DevOps via webhooks. Once configured, every pull request gets reviewed automatically.

Steps

  1. Create an account at kodus.io or self-host Kodus
  2. Connect Azure DevOps — in the Connect your Git tool step of onboarding, open the Azure Repos tab, click Connect via token, and enter your Azure Repos organization name and Personal Access Token (you can also connect later from Repositories in the sidebar)
  3. Select repositories — choose which Azure DevOps repositories Kodus should review
  4. Webhooks — Kodus creates the pull request service hooks automatically when you save the selection. If that didn’t happen (typically on self-hosted installs), register them manually with the Azure DevOps Webhooks guide
  5. Open a pull request — Kodus reviews it automatically

What you get

  • Automated reviews on every PR
  • Comments posted directly in the pull request
  • Customizable rules, review categories, and a minimum severity threshold
  • Business logic validation against linked work items

Custom configuration

Drop a kodus-config.yml in your repo root to customize behavior per repository. The file overrides web settings once kodus Config File Overrides Web Preferences is on for that repository (Code review → General).

Using a Personal Access Token

Azure DevOps requires a PAT for Kodus to access your repositories and post review comments. Make sure the token has the appropriate scopes for code read and PR comment access. For the full setup guide, see Azure DevOps Webhooks and Azure DevOps PAT.
